In October 2023, we delved again into the intersection of urban development and nature during an immersive workshop at the Morasko Reserve with a special focus on the fascinating world of fungi networks. The workshop for art students of the Studio for Transdisciplinary Projects and Research was led by Mikołaj Charchuta, a student of bioinformatics at the Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University and a member of the scientific Team of the SPUN Expedition.

During our workshop, related to the subject “Smart City – fungi”  we learnt about the hidden intelligence of fungi networks that serve as nature’s communication infrastructure and the importance of biodiversity. We reflected on the human impact on the environment and reimagined cities as dynamic, interconnected ecosystems that respond intelligently to their surroundings.
